Voluntary carbon credit disclosures

Disclosure of the voluntary carbon credits marketed and sold by R3CKON LLC through R3CKON, per California Health and Safety Code sections 44475 and following (AB 1305). Water Restoration Certificates and Renewable Energy Certificates are not carbon credits and are not listed here.

Last reviewed: 2026-10-24. Reviewed at least once a year and whenever a project in the basket changes.

Rio Grande Valley Landfill (CAR512, Climate Action Reserve)

Durability: Not a storage project. The reductions come from gas captured and destroyed, or refrigerant reclaimed in place of new production, so there is no stored carbon that could later be released.
ICVCM Core Carbon Principles (CCP) label: Carried, per the supplier's menu; confirmed against the registry record for the serials retired.
Additionality and legal requirement (FTC 16 CFR 260.5(c)): Passed the protocol's Legal Requirement Test and Performance Standard Test for vintage 2024 (verification report section 3.3.3). The verifier found no federal, state or local rule requiring this landfill to collect and destroy its gas: its measured NMOC emissions were below the 34 Mg/yr federal Emission Guidelines threshold (40 CFR Part 62 Subpart OOO) when last tested in January 2015, and as a closed landfill it is not required to test again. The registry lists the gas collection system as voluntary, and the developer attested to regulatory compliance for 2024.

Third-party validation or verification: TÜV SÜD America, Inc. (validation and verification, lead verifier Garrett Heidrick), reasonable assurance, positive opinion dated 2025-12-31, without material misstatement. The site visit to the Rhome facility took place on 2024-10-23, during the verification of an earlier A-Gas project (ACR1066).

Additionality and legal requirement (FTC 16 CFR 260.5(c)): Passed the methodology's Regulatory Surplus Test and practice-based Performance Standard for vintage 2025 (verification report section 3.4). The verifier found no federal or state law requiring HFCs to be reclaimed in 2025: EPA does not require certified reclaimers to reclaim, and the AIM Act phases down new HFC production without requiring reclamation. R-404A was removed from the project to comply with California SB 1206 and New York Part 494. EPA's Emissions Reduction and Reclamation rule requires reclaimed HFCs for servicing some equipment only from 2029-01-01, so it did not apply to this vintage; later vintages will be checked against it.

Accountability if a project does not deliver

If the supplier cannot deliver the stated project within 60 days of a month's close, R3CKON will, at the customer's choice, retire credits from a project listed on this page with the same or later vintage and the same verification standard, or refund that period's certificate cost. If a registry invalidates or cancels a credit R3CKON retired, R3CKON will replace it one for one at its own cost within 90 days and record the replacement here and on the affected certificates. See section 6 of the Terms of Service.

Data and calculation methods for independent verification (§44475(c))

R3CKON does not issue carbon credits. Each credit was issued by the registry named above under that registry's protocol, and the registry record linked for each project holds the protocol, monitoring reports, verification statements, and issuance and retirement serials that reproduce the number of credits issued.

How R3CKON sized each retirement (not part of the protocol's quantification). Retirement quantities are each plan's fixed monthly basket, published on the pricing page. How the baskets were chosen is on the methodology page. Each certificate's JSON records the supplier reference for every unit, and each retirement row links the supplier order or inventory lot that supplied it.

Buyers who make their own carbon-related claims may have independent disclosure obligations under AB 1305 section 44475.1; the Terms of Service address this, and every paid plan's certificates carry the seller, registry, project, and verification fields those buyers need.
